Sunday Sounds: Dave Matthews Band - You & Me

Last week Joe came home with the newest Dave Matthews Band album Big Whisky and the Groogrux King and played me a song he said reminded him of us {insert melting heart here}.

Below is a video from a live performance of the tune and to watch the official music video, visit the Dave Matthews Band YouTube Channel HERE.

Sunday Sounds: Scarlett Johansson & Pete Yorn

This morning while picking up a Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks, a CD cover with the lovely Scarlett Johansson caught my eye.  I've always been a fan of Miss Johansson, but after listening to a few tracks from her album Break Up with the equally charming Pete Yorn, I am officially smitten over this songstress! Take a listen to their song "Relator" or tune into their performance on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show tomorrow, Monday, October 12th at 4PM.

SacFoodies SacTweetUp Scavenger Hunt Video!

Last week, my colleagues and I participated in the first-ever SacTweetUp Scavenger Hunt.  The event kicked off at Morton's and was sponsored by Luxx Limo, which meant we got to ride in style as we travelled through Downtown and Midtown searching for destinations from our list of clues.  Lucky for us, many of the clues directed us to some of our favorite Sacramento restaurants including Hot Italian, Loung ON20 and Mulvaney's B&L - which also helped us bring home a second place win along with accolades for "Best Photos!"  Below is a video created by Luxx Limo highlighting our journey.

On the Metro EDGE?

Now that Joe and I are married and our subsequent marathon wedding season has ended, I have been exploring new ventures to dedicate my time to.  A few months ago, I took on a role as Associate Partnership Director for the Social Media Club Sacramento chapter (shameless plug: if you have a venue or food you would like to donate, let’s talk!), I’ve also participated in my fair share of Sac TweetUps, and last month I attended the launch event for Metro EDGE – a program of the Sacramento Metro Chamber created for the River City’s up-and-comers.

It was a great event, but it wasn’t until a recent email from fellow blogger Jon Schuller (I Love and Hate Everything) that I actually began to really look into the organization and what it’s all about.  You see, Jon is part of the communication committee and filled me in on all the fabulous details of the Metro EDGE’s first-ever "In the Mix" networking mixer this Friday at Cosmo Café.  So if you’re like me and are intrigued by Metro EDGE but want to learn more before taking the plunge, this event is for you.  The custom Metro EDGE Martinis are just icing on the cake.

Rocket to Rock it at Townhouse This Friday

A couple weeks ago, I received an email about glam rock band Rocket.  The LA-based girl group, fresh off an appearance on HBO's True Blood playing a "fake" band called  "The God Rockets," will take the stage at Townhouse this Friday with local bands BOATS! and The Babs Johnson Gang.  I checked out all three bands’ MySpace pages and had to share this amazing show!
